Most travellers choose one of the three plans below. The shorter plan suits a long weekend, the middle one gives you time to see Manali and the Kullu valley without rushing, and the longer one adds Shimla so that you see two hill stations in one trip.
| Package Duration | Places covered | Best for | Starting price per person |
| 3 Nights 4 Days | Manali, Solang Valley | Long weekend trips, friend groups | Rs. 6,950/- (+GST) |
| 4 Nights 5 Days | Manali, Solang Valley, Kullu, Manikaran | Families and couples | Rs. 6,999/- (+GST) |
| 5 Nights 6 Days | Shimla and Manali | First-time visitors to Himachal | Rs. 7,200/- (+GST) |
The price depends on the season, the hotel category and whether you travel by Volvo or private car. Rates are higher in December, January, May and June, when Manali is at its busiest. If you are not sure which one to pick, start with the number of days you can take off. Three nights is tight for a Volvo trip, because most of the first and last day goes on the road. Four nights is the comfortable minimum for a Delhi to Manali Volvo package, and it is the plan families ask us about most. If you want a Shimla Manali tour package from Delhi, plan at least five nights, otherwise you spend more time in the vehicle than in the hills. Couples looking for a Manali honeymoon package from Delhi usually take the middle plan and upgrade the hotel.
Which Manali Tour Package Suits You: Couples, Family or Friends
Manali tour package for couples
Couples usually prefer a quieter hotel, a private cab and some unhurried time. A good plan includes an evening in Old Manali with its riverside cafés, sunset views, and one adventure day at Solang Valley if you want it. For honeymoon trips we can add extras such as a decorated room or a candlelight dinner, depending on the hotel. Old Manali is a good example of what couples enjoy: it is a short cab ride from the town centre, but the pace is slower, with small cafés, orchards nearby and views of the Beas river. When choosing the best Manali honeymoon package from Delhi, the hotel location and the room view usually matter more than the number of places covered.
Manali family tour package from Delhi
With children or older parents, comfort matters more than a packed schedule. We keep the sightseeing days lighter, choose hotels close to Mall Road, and suggest a private car instead of the overnight bus if anyone gets motion sickness on mountain roads. Manali also has easy, flat attractions that suit all ages, such as Van Vihar, a small park with a lake and boating, and the short walk to Hadimba Devi Temple. Children usually enjoy the snow point at Solang or a gentle horse ride, and elders can enjoy Mall Road and the Tibetan market at their own pace. That is why our Manali family tour package from Delhi keeps the schedule relaxed.
Budget Manali package for friends and solo travellers
A Volvo-based plan with a comfortable mid-range hotel and shared or private sightseeing cabs keeps the cost sensible. You pay separately for activities such as paragliding and rafting, so you choose only what you actually want to try. A budget Manali tour package from Delhi does not have to feel cheap. Taking the Volvo saves the cost of a private car on the long highway, and a clean, well-located mid-range hotel gives you far more comfort than a cheap room far from the market. Travelling on weekdays or in the shoulder months also brings hotel rates down and keeps the roads less crowded.
Manali tour itinerary: 4 nights 5 days from Delhi by Volvo
Of the 4 nights in this plan, 2 are spent on the bus and 2 in a Manali hotel. We mention this upfront so there are no surprises later.
Day 1: Delhi to Manali by overnight Volvo
The AC Volvo leaves Delhi in the evening from a fixed pickup point. The journey is about 12 to 14 hours, so eat a light dinner before boarding and keep a shawl or jacket handy because the AC and the mountain air both get cold towards morning. After Chandigarh the highway climbs through the Shivalik foothills and then follows the Beas river through the Kullu valley, so if you are awake in the last hour or two before Manali you will see the prettiest part of the road.
Day 2: Arrive in Manali and see the local sights
You reach Manali in the morning, check in at the hotel and have breakfast. After some rest we visit Hadimba Devi Temple, a wooden temple inside a deodar forest that is believed to date back to 1553. Next comes Vashisht, known for its natural hot sulphur springs, and then the Tibetan monastery. The evening is free for Mall Road, where you can shop for woollens and handicrafts and try local food. Hadimba Devi Temple is about 2.5 km from Mall Road and Vashisht is roughly 3.5 km away, so both are short, easy drives. Manali sits at about 2,050 metres, so mornings feel cool even in early summer. For a meal, look for siddu, a steamed Himachali bread, madra, a curd-based dish, or fresh trout from the Beas. If you still have energy, the cafés of Old Manali stay lively well into the evening.
Day 3: Full day at Solang Valley
Solang Valley is the adventure stop of the trip. Depending on the season you can try paragliding, zorbing, the ropeway and, in winter, skiing and snow activities. Rohtang Pass depends on weather and government permits, so we do not promise it. If it is closed, we can take you through the Atal Tunnel towards Sissu in the Lahaul valley instead. Solang Valley is roughly 13 km from Manali town at about 2,500 metres, and the drive usually takes about an hour. Start early, because roads and parking fill up by late morning in peak months and the weather is usually clearer before noon. Rohtang Pass, about 51 km from Manali and close to 4,000 metres high, needs a government permit and is not open all year, which is why we treat it as a bonus and not a promise. The Atal Tunnel, about 9 km long, keeps the Lahaul side reachable when Rohtang is shut.
Day 4: Kullu, Manikaran and the return Volvo
After breakfast we drive to Kullu for the market and shawl factories, then to Manikaran, famous for its hot springs and gurdwara. River rafting on the Beas is available as an optional extra. In the evening you board the Volvo back to Delhi. Manikaran is a pilgrimage town on the Parvati river where hot springs flow beside cold river water, and its gurdwara serves free langar to visitors. Kullu is known for shawls and woollens, so it is a good place to pick up gifts. If you choose rafting on the Beas, wear quick-dry clothes and carry a change, because you will get wet.
Day 5: Back in Delhi
You reach Delhi in the morning and the trip ends.

Delhi to Manali trip cost: what decides the package price
When people search for the Delhi to Manali tour package price, they usually find numbers that are very far apart. Publicly listed Manali packages from Delhi range from a few thousand rupees for a basic Volvo trip to well over ₹50,000 per person for premium plans that add Shimla or luxury hotels. That gap is not random. It comes from a handful of choices, and once you understand them you can decide where to spend and where to save. Here is how each one changes the Manali tour package cost.
Season and travel dates
This is the biggest factor. Peak months such as May, June, late December and the New Year week bring the highest hotel rates, and Volvo seats sell out early. In the shoulder months, such as March, April, late September and October, the weather is still good but rooms cost noticeably less. During the monsoon, July and August, prices often drop further, though you should accept some risk of rain delays. If your dates are flexible, moving a trip by even one week can change the price more than upgrading a hotel.
Hotel category
Your hotel decides both the price and how the trip feels. A budget hotel gives you a clean room and a bed, usually a little away from the centre. A mid-range hotel or resort typically adds better rooms, a valley view, hot water that actually works and a dining hall. Boutique and luxury stays add private balconies, quieter locations and better service. For most families and couples, a well-located mid-range hotel near Mall Road or Old Manali is where the extra rupees give the best return.
Transport: Volvo, private car or flight
A seat on the overnight AC Volvo is the cheapest way to reach Manali, and it saves you one hotel night because you sleep on the bus. A private car costs much more but suits families, elders and groups who want flexibility. Flying to Bhuntar and driving on is the fastest option and often the most expensive. Local sightseeing also matters: a shared cab is cheaper, while a private cab for the whole stay costs more and gives you full control of your day.
Group size and room sharing
Per-person prices fall as more people share a room and a cab. A group of four sharing one vehicle pays far less per head than a solo traveller booking the same trip. Couples usually take a double room, and families of three or four can often take a family room or an extra bed. If you are travelling alone, ask us about sharing options to keep the cost down.
Add-ons and activities
Rafting on the Beas, paragliding at Solang, snow scooters, the ropeway, a Kasol or Rohtang extension and extra nights are all priced separately. It helps to decide in advance which of these you really want, so that the base package stays affordable and the extras do not surprise you at the counter. Entry fees, guide charges and lunches are also usually paid on the spot.
How to get the best price
Book your Volvo seats and hotel early, avoid the peak-week rush if you can, travel on weekdays, and tell us your budget up front. We would rather build a plan that fits your figure honestly than quote a low number that grows later.
How to reach Manali from Delhi: Volvo, car or flight
By Volvo bus
The overnight Volvo takes 12 to 14 hours and is the most economical way to go. Seats recline and the bus makes only a few stops, so most people sleep through the night and arrive by morning. Book your seat early in peak season. Seats near the middle of the bus usually feel steadier on winding roads, which helps if you get motion sickness. We confirm the exact boarding point and time before you travel.
By Private Car or Taxi
Driving takes roughly 12 to 13 hours depending on traffic and weather. It suits families and groups because you can stop for tea and photos and travel at your own pace. A driver who knows the mountain roads matters more than the car itself. Plan a break every two to three hours, and try to cross the last hill stretch in daylight, since unfamiliar hill roads at night are tiring and best avoided.
By Flight
Fly from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport in Kullu, then drive to Manali, which is about 50 km away. This saves the most time but costs more, and flights can be affected by weather. Flights to Bhuntar are limited, so check the current schedule before you plan around them, and keep a spare day in case weather delays a flight.
Best Time to Visit Manali from Delhi, Season by Season
March to June
Temperatures stay between roughly 10 and 25 degrees Celsius. The skies are clear, which makes it the best window for sightseeing, trekking, rafting and family holidays. May and June are the busiest months, as families come to escape the heat of the plains, so book hotels and Volvo seats well ahead. April is a good middle choice, with pleasant weather and fewer people, and spring is also the best window for trekking and paragliding.
July to September
The valley turns green and temperatures sit between 15 and 25 degrees, but heavy rain can cause landslides and road delays. Keep your plan flexible if you travel in these months. The upside of the monsoon is fewer tourists, lower hotel rates and hills that look freshly washed. Choose a flexible booking, avoid long drives straight after heavy rain, and check road conditions a day before you leave.
October to February
It gets cold, from about -5 to 10 degrees. This is the season for snowfall, skiing and honeymoon trips. Carry proper woollens, and expect some routes to close after heavy snow. Snow usually begins in late November and is heaviest in December and January, which is also when hotel prices peak around Christmas and New Year. Keep a spare day if you are driving, since snow can slow traffic. For honeymooners, cold evenings and a warm room are half the charm.
What to Pack for a Manali Trip from Delhi
Packing well is the difference between enjoying Manali and spending your holiday feeling cold, damp or tired. Delhi is often 15 to 20 degrees warmer than Manali, and the temperature drops further as you go up to Solang or Rohtang, so plan for layers instead of one heavy jacket. Here is a practical checklist by category.
Clothing for Winter (October to February)
Temperatures can fall to about -5 degrees Celsius, so carry thermal innerwear, a warm sweater or fleece, a padded or down jacket, a woollen cap, gloves, a muffler and two or three pairs of woollen socks. Layers work better than one thick garment, because you can remove them as the day warms up or when you are in a heated hotel room.
Clothing for Summer and the monsoon
From March to June, light cotton clothes for the day and a light jacket or shawl for the evening are enough. The sun feels sharper at altitude, so add a cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. In July to September, pack a raincoat or a good umbrella, quick-dry clothes and a spare pair of shoes, because footwear takes a long time to dry in the hills.
Footwear
Comfortable sports shoes with a good grip are best for most sightseeing. In winter, choose waterproof shoes or boots, since wet feet ruin a snow day quickly. Leave the heels and slippery sandals at home, as many attractions involve slopes, steps or a short walk on uneven ground.
Health, Medicines and Altitude
Manali sits at around 2,050 metres, and most people feel fine there. Places such as Rohtang, at nearly 4,000 metres, or Sissu can make some people feel breathless or light-headed, so move slowly, drink plenty of water and rest if you feel unwell. Carry your regular medicines, a basic first-aid kit, motion-sickness tablets for the winding roads, and a moisturiser and lip balm, as the mountain air is dry.
Documents, Money and Phone
Keep a government photo ID for every traveller, along with a copy of your booking and Volvo ticket. Digital payments work in most of Manali, but the mobile network can be weak in higher or remote areas, so carry some cash. A power bank is very useful, since cold weather drains phone batteries faster.
Small Essentials and what You can Rent Locally
A small daypack, a reusable water bottle, tissues, a torch and a few plastic bags for wet clothes take almost no space and help a lot. You do not have to carry bulky snow gear from Delhi: jackets, gloves and snow boots are usually available on rent at Solang Valley, so you can travel light and rent only if you decide to play in the snow.
