Every day many lives are birth, and many sleep forever, but we do not remember everyone's name. Yet some people shall remain alive in our memories for generations even after their death. It is because of their deeds and contributions that they have made to the people and the nation. Some days are allocated for celebrating the events that remind us of the contribution of our national heroes.

History Of Parakram Diwas

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was an eminent leader and great freedom fighter. It had been decided by the Government of India(GOI) and announced by the Union Culture Ministry on January 19 2021, that the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose will be observed as Parakram Diwas throughout the nation to remember and pay tribute to the contributions made by Netaji for the nation during the struggle for Independence. The first celebration was held on January 23 2021, the 125th birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

About Parakram Diwas

From the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, the day is celebrated as Parakram Diwas. Parakram Diwas means the day of courage. On the occasion of the first Parakram Diwas, an exhibition on the life of Netaji was organised at Victoria Memorial, Kolkata. It had been decided by the Government of India(GOI) and announced by the Union Culture Ministry on January 19 2021, that the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose will be observed as Parakram Diwas throughout the nation to remember and pay tribute to the contributions made by Netaji for the nation during the struggle for Independence.

The President and Prime Minister of India pay tribute to the freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Movies and short clips about the great leader's life and sacrifice get played. The day seeks to inspire the people of India, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity. It further aims to infuse a spirit of patriotic favour in youth. Trinamool Congress had announced to celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji as 'Desh Nayak Diwas'.

About Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha, on January 23. He was born to Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Dutt. He was affectionately called Netaji and one of the prominent leaders of the Indian freedom struggle. He founded Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) to overthrow the British Empire from India. He was also an active part of the youth wing of the Indian National Congress (INC). Between 1938 to 1939, he was also the President of the INC. The demise of Netaji is still a mystery. As per government records, he died due to third-degree burns that he sustained during a plane crash in Taiwan. Thus, it is widely believed that Bose died on August 18, 1945, in an air crash in Taiwan. However, some people believe that he survived that crash and hid to escape the British.
