During ancient times, a king named Vaikhanas governed his land. He was fully satisfied with his slaves and did not tolerate any mistakes from them. Ruling in his Kingdom very well, and everything was going well. One day the king was resting, and suddenly, he got up and found his father suffering

from hell, and then suddenly, he denounced death. His father was appealing to him to spare him from certain death. His father requested him to relieve him from his miseries. He got upset while sawing this, and his sleep was disturbed. Then in the early morning, he calls the pundits and describes the whole story regarding his nightmare. He worries about his father and wants to inquire about the unseen reason behind this.

The pundits told the king that he must request a compound to relieve his father from his sins and torments. To do this, he had to visit the Ashram of the parvat saint and request over there.

Then follow the advice of pundits, the king travelled to the hermitage of the sage and started telling his nightmare story to him.

After hearing everything from the king, the mountain sage learned about the miseries his father had performed with his mother. And he has fallen into a very hellish condition due to his sins and wrongdoings with his wife. Then the private muni expresses their concerns regarding his father, that his father has been cursed to hell because of his wrongdoings with the other people in his previous life stage.

So to relieve his father from all those sins, he is advised to do fasting of Mokshda Ekadashi to honour his father. He will get rid of his hell. After doing this fast, the blessing of Lord Vishnu will become the offerings for his father to get relief from his sins. This will redeem all the wrongdoings and torments of his father of previous life, and his father will be granted salvation.

After receiving advice from the sage, they decided to fast for Mokshda Ekadashi. He returned to his palace and recognized the Mokshda Ekadashi fast. He performed this fast very well by distributing food, clothes and Dakshina to poor people and receiving the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
