Aurangabad Airport, also known as the Chikkalthana Airport, is a public airport in the Maharashtra city of Aurangabad. The state government concentrated on developing tourism in this district during the 1990s.
The airport was upgraded in stages as part of the overall development. The runway was extended and reinforced during the first phase, with a new taxiway, boundary wall construction, and other improvements completed in 2005.
The new integrated terminal building and technical complex were completed in the second phase in 2008.The airport reopened in November 2008, and regular traffic operations began on March 3, 2009.
Services and Facilities
For the convenience of passengers, the airport offers a variety of services and facilities. There are trolleys, wheelchairs, and assistance for seniors, physically challenged, and infirm travellers. Additional services available at the airport include medical first aid, a childcare room, and lost and found baggage counters.
